Here's another painting we've just added to the black cloak series featuring AB's main model standing with a tiger while a man sits caged in the distance.

Crazy as it may seem, we did two summer shows recently: one at Salina, Kansas (featured below in the blog) and another at Casper, Wyoming. We don't normally show in summer since both of us don't care for the HOT months, but the exception ruled this time. We're happy that we went to Salina, anyway. Casper was 100 plus degrees with record breaking highs temps. No fun, indeed.

BEST OF SHOW WINNER

Karla Prickett (left), Director of Smoky Hill River Festival, announces that AB has won the top honor, The Martha Rhea Award of Merit, during the June 9-10, 2012 Fine Art Show held at Salina, Kansas. Ms. Rhea (right), started the show 36 years ago and has nurtured it to be the largest outdoor festival at Kansas and a first-rate venue for arts and crafts. We are very pleased.

AB has returned to the western theme and completed a beautiful painting featuring a Native American Indian girl she met during a pow wow at Wind River Reservation. The child was traveling with her parents who were selling her father's bead work at pow wows during the summer season. This is the second artwork AB has completed depicting this child and will be offered soon as a limited edition. The original is currently available, so contact us for further details.

Here's a new painting that we've almost finished framing in a tabernacle with an Egyptian flair. And once we do finish, we'll post a pic of that. The original is available for sale and the image will most likely be issued as a limited edition. We've made some proofs already and feel really good about them!

NEW Black Cloak Themed Artworks

We're gearing up to exhibit during the March 16-18 Metaphysical Fair held at Denver Merchandise Mart. We realize that in our November post we mentioned that we would not be touring this winter and spring. So by doing this event we're sort of touring, but not in the traditional sense. This show will be our one and only venue during March, and we'll be back home in the studios immediately following the show.

So for this venue we're doing something different; we're doing a tightly focused themed show of the artworks featuring AB's main model wearing her black cloak. Some of AB's best, most evocative, and most popular works will be offered here. We will have available limited editions framed like the originals as well as several brand new original paintings we're working on presently.

News From Home

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we're home and have decided to stay home for the winter and spring seasons. So we'll not be touring during the first half, and most likely the first 9 months of 2011. We're gonna miss everyone at the spring shows!
The Tourmaline painting featured below also sold during our tour, so it's no longer available.
We enjoyed a stunning fall this year while traveling through West Virigina and Virginia. We've never seen a fall as beautiful as this one. Both of us were especially taken with West Virginia, as well as the the mountains above Stewart, Virginia.
Lastly, we were invited to show and sell art through a fine gallery at Colonial Williamsburg--and we accepted the offer! So we are proud to partner with Steve King, owner of Gallery on Merchant's Square, located at 440A Duke of Gloucester Street in the heart of Williamsburg, Virginia. See the Gallery website at www dot galleryonmsq dot com. We met Steve during the Stockley Gardens Art Show at Norfolk and are delighted he asked for us to come see his gallery on our journey home.

We are especially pleased with this painting and frame combination. On one hand we hope it doesn't sell during the tour, but on the other hand we hope that it does. As with any image on our blog, click on it to see an enlargement. WOOHOO!

Recent Awards & Show Notes

We've had some great success with several shows, including winning awards at Con*Stellation, Monte Sano, and Lincoln (not pictured, Award of Excellence). Sales have been a bit sluggish this season, but Monte Sano was pretty good since we sold the AT THIRTEEN original piece pictured downthread on our blog.
